It's time to reintroduce myself

😊 Family is really important to me. I'm really fortunate as although I've sadly lost both my parents, I have two really supportive brothers and their families.

👭 I also have my family of choice - my wonderful friends, both old and new, who bring so much joy to my life.

📆 I'm starting 2026 with lots to figure out. I'm newly single, and will be navigating living on my own, which might also necessitate a house move. However, I'm excited about the opportunity this massive change brings about.

🐈 I'm definitely a crazy cat lady. I own four cats, and foster cats and kittens for a local charity.

🎨 I'm currently rediscovering my love of art which I haven't practised for years. I've splurged lots on art equipment recently and am trying to improve my watercolour skills.

🎭 I have a degree in Theatre Studies and English Literature. I used to love taking part in amateur productions when I was younger.

🛩 I love travelling. My father used to have a pilot's license, and some of my earliest memories are jumping about in the back of a small four seater plane, making the plane 'bounce' in the air.

📚 I love children’s literature – especially picture books for older readers. I have a huge collection of these. I used to co-own a children's book shop in Totnes, Devon.

🎵 My first album was Adam and the Ants – Prince Charming. I had piano and flute lessons when I was young. I can't play either of these instruments very well now. My most recent live music gig was Taylor Swift Eros tour. I don't care that I was one of the oldest swifties at the concert!

🕑 I was a National Literacy Strategy Consultant for six years. Remember those days?

🤱 I was unable to have children, so this has meant that I've had a lot of freedom over the last few decades to travel and pursue my career. I honestly would have loved a family, but I also know that I wouldn't have become a leader and progressed in my career if I was also raising children. I have huge awe for women who are able to do both.

📖 I love reading - I’m currently really enjoying audio books. I read 77 books in 2025. I often multi-task by listening to books while I'm driving or doing household chores

👩‍🏫 I started my teaching career in 1993 – Yes, I’m that old!

🛥 I’ve been the proud owner of a motor yacht, sports car and campervan (but don’t have any of these now).

🐶 I house and pet sit, and like to combine this with the flexibility of remote working.

🍕 I love Italian food.
